The Neuro Café is an online weekly education and discussion group on Wednesdays from 6:00 - 6:45pm. It is run by a physiotherapist and is open to all LEGS Members, for free. The Neuro Café is a place where participants motivate, challenge and encourage each other throughout their ongoing rehabilitation. It is filled with laughter and has become a really enjoyable part of our week.
The aim is to bring LEGS participants together in a relaxed and informal way, to share experiences, swap advice on how to manage living with neurological conditions, to enjoy each other's company and to learn from guest speakers and professionals on a range of topics. It is a place of learning and we all learn a great deal from listening to each other.
The weekly topics of the Neuro Café vary (this term's timetable is at the bottom of this page) and are informed by our participants. We host physiotherapist led discussions on a topics of interest such as blood pressure, healthy eating, aqua aerobics, travelling and fatigue. We also do a range of different activities such as arts and crafts, relaxation techniques and Tai Chi. Other weeks we invite external speakers such as InterAct Stroke Support who read poetry, short stories and host quizzes. Monthly challenges are set such as taking photos outside to encourage outdoor mobility, which can be found in our LEGS Gallery. Members use our LEGS Social WhatsApp group to share interesting stories, photos and to stay in touch.
We hope you will join us! Email us for the joining details.
