About us

LEGS is a physiotherapist-led charity helping people rebuild movement, strength, and confidence after a stroke or a neurological diagnosis.

Membership and Pricing

  • Classes cost £110 for a block of 11 classes

    You can find full details about our pricing here.

    We do offer a range of bursary schemes for those in financial hardship.

  • No, we don’t offer single sessions.

    We host classes in 11-week blocks to give you time to build strength gently and effectively.

    You can join mid way through a block and the cost will be pro rataed

  • We’re unable to refund missed classes, as each class is part of your 11-week block.

    if you become medically unwell and need a prolonged break do contact us and we can transfer the remaining classes to a future block.

  • Your membership offers so much more on top of regular and supportive rehabilitation exercise classes. We host a range of social groups and activities, and also have useful legal support. Find out exactly what your membership includes by clicking here.

  • We want as many people as possible to have access to our services, so we strive to make our classes and support services as affordable as possible.


    If cost is a barrier, you may be able to receive support through our bursary scheme. Get in touch here if you’d like to discuss your options.

  • Joining us is simple. You don’t need a GP referral to get started. 


    Just click here to sign up for yourself or for someone you care for, and we will be in touch soon. Your healthcare professional can also complete the referral on your behalf.

Physiotherapy

  • Your assessment helps our physiotherapists understand your movement, strength, and balance. 

    It means we can match you with the right class for your level. It also keeps you safe and helps track your progress over time.

    It gives you an opportunity to set personal goals and to ask our physiotherapists questions in a confidential space.

  • After your assessment, our team will recommend the class that suits your needs and goals. 

    We have classes for different abilities, from gentle seated sessions to standing or balance classes. Plus, you’ll always have expert guidance throughout.

  • It’s absolutely okay to find an exercise too hard. Our instructors can adapt every movement to suit you, and you can take a rest at any time. 

    Progress is different for everyone, but the most important thing is to keep moving in a way that works best for you.

  • When you become a member, if you wish you can be added to our members’ WhatsApp groups for reminders and event updates. You don’t have to join these if you don’t want to.

  • It’s completely normal to feel nervous at first. But everyone at LEGS knows how it feels to start something new. Just know you’ll be in a friendly, kind and supportive environment with people who understand your journey. We can set you up with a buddy to meet you at face to face session if you wish.
