FAQs
Do I need to have an assessment before I start?

• Yes, once we have received the referral form, a physiotherapist will be in touch to arrange an assessment, which normally happens online via Zoom.
• Your assessment will be 1:1 with a neuro physiotherapist.
• During the assessment we will advise you on which class (or classes) would be suitable for you and we can discuss your individualised goals.

We can help you if you don't know how to use Zoom or if you have any communication needs.

How much are online classes compared to face to face classes?

It’s the same price whether the class is online or face to face.

1 block of 11 classes = £77

That works out at £7 per class.
The true cost is three times that amount (£22 per class) but thanks to our fundraising efforts, we are able to heavily subsidise the price for our participants.

How do I get my friend/family member involved?

• Fill out the contact form, and one of our team will be in touch. A short referral form will be provided for you to fill out on behalf of the participant.
• You can refer a member of your family, a friend or patient as long as you have their permission.

What is your cancellation policy for classes?
• Just let us know as soon as possible by phone or email, ideally the morning of the session, just so we know that you are okay.
Will I be reimbursed if I miss a class?
• Unfortunately we can’t reimburse you for classes you miss. We do not work on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Will you remind me when my class is?
-
Yes. We will send you an automated email reminder the day before your class. It will have the time and name of your physio.

• We actively encourage participants to join us for at least 12 weeks. We believe in long term, affordable, accessible, rehabilitation. Many of our participants have been with us for several years, progressing from our lower intensity groups to our higher ones. • We encourage you to exercise independently or access services in your communities. We can give you advice on how to do this.
What technology do I need for online sessions and assessments?
•We run all our online classes and assessments using Zoom. It’s OK if you haven’t used this before. • We can help you set this up on your computer, tablet or phone. • If you don’t have a tablet or smartphone, we have tablets we can lend you.
Can you provide support to participants that have not used Zoom before?
• Yes, we provide assistance to people to help them access our classes, especially when Zoom is not something they are familiar with. We will do whatever we can do to make accessing our classes easy for you.
I live on my own, can I still attend online exercise classes?
• Yes, as part of our assessment, we discuss how the classes run and what things needs to be considered to make it safe.
Do I have to provide my own exercise equipment for the online classes?
•All you need is a sturdy chair! We encourage people to use everyday objects that can be found around the home. These work just as well as specialist exercise equipment. •We will let you know if we think you would benefit from purchasing a particular hand weight or exercise band. We can also help with the funding of this.
I’m concerned that the exercise class be too hard or too easy.
• Following your initial assessment, the physiotherapist will recommend a class based on your ability. • We have small classes and we adapt the exercises to ensure that you are exercising safely and most effectively for your ability. • We have a wide range of abilities amongst our participants and we are specialists in neurological physiotherapy so we individually tailor our support to you.
What happens in a class?
• We start with a general chat, check in to see how everybody is doing and then get going with a warm up to get us ready to exercise. • The physio leads the session and gives instructions whilst demonstrating the exercises. • During the class, the physio will let you know how you are doing, suggest any necessary modifications and explain what we are doing. • If you need to take breaks during the class, that’s absolutely fine and we will make sure you are exercising safely. • At the end of the exercises we have a gentle warm down.
Are there good public transport links to the studios?
• Yes. They are all easy to reach by public transport. • We can help you plan your journey.
Who teaches the classes?
• All classes are taught by a qualified and highly experienced physiotherapist. • Go to the Meet The Team page to read more about our fantastic team!
