Neuro Café 16th February 2022 by Conor
This week in Neuro Café we were kindly joined by Felicity and Katie from the fabulous company The Able Label.
What is The Able Label?
The Able Label are an amazing clothing company that sell stylish and comfortable clothing. However, what makes the Able Label different is that their high-quality garments have specifically been designed to make dressing easier. The quality fabrics, discreet adaptive designs, innovative fastenings and hidden extras make dressing easier for those who may suffer from restricted movement or lack of finger dexterity. This helps to give some independence back to individuals who take pride in their appearance.
The designs not only make it easier for individuals to dress themselves independently but also helps carers and relatives who assist with dressing.
How did it begin?
The Able Label founder, Katie Ellis, was a fashion buyer for a High Street clothing retailer. Her grandmother had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, she began to find it increasingly difficult to get clothes that were both stylish and practical. Having always been a lady who took pride in her appearance, it made her grandmother feel like she was losing a part of her identity.
Having spotted the gap in the market for stylish and comfortable clothes, designed in a way to make dressing easier, the idea for Able Label was born. After a year of market research, involving many different focus groups, the Able Label was launched.
The Able Label is now in its sixth year of trading and has gone from strength to strength, offering a wide range of clothes for both men and women.
What do they sell?
Both men’s and women’s clothes are in a wide ranges of sizes making it accessible for all body types. The clothes have innovative fastenings and hidden extras which make the experience of dressing easier without sacrificing on style.
