How do we create good sleep habits? Why is sleep so important for managing neurological conditions?

  • Take your sleep routine seriously and try to create good sleep habits

  • You need good quality sleep to allow your brain to rest and recover.

  • If you have difficulties falling asleep, try audiobooks or a podcast. The Audible app has a timer which fades away the sound, allowing you to drift off.

  • Dreams often occur during the REM stage of sleep. If you have a neurological condition such as a stroke you may experience memory problems and you may not remember your dreams.

  • If you often feel anxious or worried before bed, try writing a list of what you are concerned about and leave your worries behind.
