May is National walking month. Tips to build confidence and move more.

Notes from Neuro Café 10th May 2023


  • Tonight at Neuro Café we discussed all things around walking. We discussed walking and using wheelchairs to access the outdoors, and looked at accessible walks, rambles and shared tips to build confidence.


  • For many of us, walking has been, or is still, difficult. Walking aids, advised by your physiotherapist can give you more freedom and confidence.


  • Walking with company can make exercise more enjoyable and motivating. Can you approach someone to join you on your walks? Ask GP for Social prescribing – there may be local buddies.


  • Even a short walk is beneficial in many ways. Build up steps and activity as much as you can. Make walking a habit!
